Partner Visas

Partners and fiancés of Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or eligible New Zealand citizens may enter and/or remain permanently in Australia. This may include:

Partner temporary visa (subclass 820) and permanent visa (subclass 801)
Subclass 802 visa is for people who are already in Australia with their partner, who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. After two years, if the relationship still exists, a permanent visa may be granted.

Partner Temporary Visa (Subclass 309) and Permanent Visa (Subclass 100)
Subclass 309 visa is for people from overseas to enter and stay in Australia with their partner, who is an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. After two years, if the relationship still exists, a permanent visa may be granted.

Prospective Marriage Visa (Subclass 300)
This is a temporary visa for people from overseas to enter Australia as a fiancé of an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen. Further permanent visas can be applied after getting married.
